Outsourcing Rupee rise no big impact on Firstsource Our Bureau Kochi, Sept 27 Firstsource Solutions, BPO service provider, expects its share of domestic business to increase from two per cent of total revenues in 2006-07 to 10 per cent during this fiscal. The growth drivers for the domestic business are from banking, financial services and insurance and telecom sectors, Mr Aashu Calapa, Executive Vice-President – HR, said at a press meet here on Thursday. To service this rapidly growing demand, he said the company has set up operations in tier-II cities such as Tiruchi, Vijayawada, Kochi, Puduchery, Hubli and Indore. Operational revenueHe pointed out that the total operation revenue was Rs 840 crore last year and the company had registered Rs 282 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal. The rupee appreciation has not made any major impact on the revenues of the company. “Moreover, we are not dependent on the US markets alone”, he said adding, Firstsource has a global delivery model with operations in India, the US, the UK, Argentina and the Philippines. The BPO industry, he said, has registered a growth rate of 33 per cent last year. This would be sustained as a Nasscom study has predicted an increase of the global BPO industry turnover from $13 billion last year to $25 billion in 2010.
