Mangalore, Sept. 28 Making India as a global hub for tourism needs the integration of various sectors, according to Mr S. Dheerendra, Regional Manager, Regional Business Office, State Bank of India (SBI), Mangalore.

Speaking here on Thursday at a seminar on ‘Tourism today: Challenges and opportunities’, jointly organised by Srinivas College of Hotel Management and Vijayalakshmi Institute of Hospitality Sciences, he said that various service sector industries such as banking, hotel and travel should come together for the growth of tourism sector.

Integration of these sectors will help make India as a global hub for tourism, he said.

Mr Dheerendra also highlighted the role of SBI in promotion of travel and tourism sectors.

Mr Mani Madhavan Nambiar, Assistant Manager, Bekal Resorts Development Corporation Ltd, and Ms Astrid Rasquinha, Principal of Globe College of Travel and Tourism, Mangalore, spoke on the occasion.
