Revisiting history: The West Bengal Governor, Mr Gopalkrishna Gandhi, taking a close look at an exhibit at the State Archives exhibition ‘Revolt in the Periphery: Bengal in 1857-58,’ which he inaugurated in Kolkata on Thursday. To his left is the West Bengal Minister for Higher Education, Mr Sudarshan Roychaudhuri. Mr Gandhi also released a book ‘Bengal Partitioned: Selections from Confidential Records,’ which has been brought out by the State Archives. The current year marks the 150th anniversary of the 1857 uprising. –
