Jain Irrigation to distribute 5-lakh shares

Mumbai, Sept. 28 Jain Irrigation, a leading drip irrigation business, has grown to become a Rs 4,000 crore conglomerate.

At the 20th AGM of the company, Mr Anil Jain, Managing Director, unveiled the company’s future ventures in the area of water management, agricultural processing, bio fuel etc.

The meeting approved the audited reports as well as proposals for preference shares and dividend on equity shares. Mr A.R. Barve and the Technical Director, Mr R.B. Jain, were re-appointed on their positions.

20% Dividend

The company will distribute 5-lakh shares to the workers by way of ESOPs during the current Diwali festival. Distribution of shares and bonus to associates will cost Rs 20 crore each.

The company paid an 18 per cent dividend last year while a 20 per cent dividend has been fixed for this year.

The company has amended its articles of association to provide 5 per cent for social cause that is equivalent to an amount of Rs 5 crore.
