A craftsman works on an intricate ’Tarakashan’ filigree at the AP Handicrafts Development Corporation’s ’Lepakshi Heritage Collection 2007’ that opened in Banjara Hills in Hyderabad on Sunday. Filigree requires remarkable craftsmanship and artistry as thin strips of silver are woven into a complex network and pattern to logical form and shape. Filigree is patterned by handcraft using only sterling silver, and even goldsmiths practise the art.
