‘It’s an era of opportunities’

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Sept. 30 “One can witness sizeable change on the contours of connectivity between urban and rural India. Remarkable changes are taking place in the field of communication, telephony and road network among others. The skylines of the cities and towns are changing rapidly. It is truly an era of opportunities and challenges,” said Mr H.S. Singhania, Chairman, J K Tyre and Industries Ltd, while delivering a lecture on ‘India in the Global Economy’ at the International Management Institute recently.

However, Mr Singhania noted, there is a long journey ahead. A very large part of the population is still without the basic necessities of life, be it electricity, water, sanitation, healthcare, housing and roads among others. There is a wide gap between rural and urban India, he added.
