RINL posts Rs 4,192-cr H1 turnover

Visakhapatnam, Oct. 3

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) has achieved a record sales turnover of Rs 4,192 crore during the first half of the current financial year, according to a press release issued by the company. In the previous year (2006-07), the company achieved sales turnover of Rs 3,880 crore during the corresponding period. The steel plant produced and sold 6.58 lakh tonnes of value-added steel during the period as against 5.15 lakh tonnes last year. The plant achieved exports of Rs 165 crore during the period. VSP supplied 11,638 tonnes of steel to the district-level dealers with a view to improving supplies to the rural segment, adds the release. Four more outlets were opened in the first half of the current financial year – one each at Raipur, Jamshedpur, Puducherry, and Jammu. —
