Just in Vogue on expansion mode

Plans more outlets; focus on leather segment

The Rs 100-crore lifestyle retail chain Just in Vogue is on an expansion mode. The chain, which has 16 outlets in eight cities, is now planning to set up 12 more outlets by March 2008, Mr Manoj Subramanium, Head Marketing, Just in Vogue, has said here today.

He noted that the chain has four outlets in Mumbai, four in Gujarat, three in Bangalore, two in Hyderabad and one in Pune. He said it is opening another outlet in Pune and one in Pimpri Chinchwad, the twin city of Pune, one in Hyderabad soon.

Mr Manoj said the chain has been fairly widespread in the Southand is now looking at Kolkata and Gurgaon. Just in Vogue has around 50 international and national brands at its outlets and mainly cater to the watches, jewellery, perfumes, cosmetics and writing instruments. Mr Manoj said the chain would be placing its thrust on the leather segment and would be introducing accessories in this segment for ladies first. The accessories that would be showcased would be ladies handbags, corporate, party bags, mobile holder, belts and so on.

The men’s accessories which would include leather belts, portfolio bags, laptop bags, leather jackets, leather strap for watches and so on, would be brought in by next year.

He noted that these would be test-marketed in two outlets in Bangalore, one in Hyderabad and Pune each.

Mr Manoj commenting on the turnover of the chain said till a couple of years, about 70 per cent of the revenue came in from the watches and 20 per cent from jewellery and 10 per cent came in from the other segments. Now, watches and jewellery contributed to about 50 per cent each.

He said that the ideal mix that the chain was looking at was around 35 per cent of the revenue from the watch category, around 30 per cent from the jewellery and the rest from other categories. He added that the company was targeting around Rs 200 crore by March 2009.
