Rains hit cocoa arrivals

The arrival of cocoa is reported to be meagre due to widespread rains in plantation areas. It has also affected the production. But once the climate changes and the rains withdraw, production would pick up in a month’s time, Campco sources said. Demand is also considerably better. As far as the market in concerned, slight up trends are visible following the reports that the prospects are bright in the days ahead. “But we do not look forward for a reasonable pri ce based on our past experience. Continuing rains and diseases cast a shadow on our expectations,” a farmer said. —
