Ross biz school reception for prospective students

Hyderabad, Oct. 4 If you are looking for a berth in a global business school, here is an opportunity to know about the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business.

The University of Michigan India Alumni Association (UMIAA) is organising a programme, ‘Meet Ross’, for prospective MBA students in Hyderabad and Bangalore.

In Hyderabad, it will be held at Hotel Taj Krishna on October 6 between 7 pm and 10 pm. In Bangalore, the programme will be at Hotel Taj Gateway on October 9 from 7 pm to 10 pm.

The school is strong across all management disciplines and MBAs from the programme are acknowledged to have excellent leadership and team skills. The world-class faculty at Ross includes noted professors C.K. Prahalad, Noel Tichy and Robert Quinn. Starting next year, the business school will move into a new 270,000 sq ft building.

Admission process

Admission to the Ross School of Business is competitive. The students who enrolled in 2007 had an average GMAT score of 702 and an average of five years of work experience.

The applicant’s college marks and the performance in the admissions interview would also play a major role in selection process, the release said.

Management consulting, investment banking, marketing and general management are popular areas of focus for Ross MBAs. Candidates with a GMAT score above 680 and a minimum of three years of work experience are invited to pre-register for the event in the admissions section of the Ross Web site. There is a network of over 38,000 Ross business school alumni spread over 82 countries. Notable Ross alumni in India include Mr Bharat Patel, Chairman of P&G India; Mr Sumant Bharat Ram, COO & CFO of DCM Ltd; Mr Viji Santhanam, Joint Managing Director, TVS; and Mr Sanjay Reddy, Vice-Chairman, GVK Industries.
