DGFT rewards Vizag Steel

Visakhapatnam, Oct. 5

The Director-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has rewarded the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant with a duty credit of Rs 10.72 crore as export benefit. The benefit can be adjusted towards customs duty against future exports by the plant, according to a press release. The VSP achieved exports of Rs 478 crore during 2005-2006, which was more than Rs 214 crore over the previous year's exports. The plant was rewarded for the performance under the Target Plus scheme. - Our Bureau
