Sheet rubber rules weak

Kottayam, Oct. 6 Sheet rubber continued to rule weak amidst scattered transactions and the grade closed at Rs 89 against Rs 89.50 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi.

Futures firm

The rubber futures finished with a firm closing possibly on a weekend short covering at lower levels. The November contract for RSS 4 moved up to Rs 86.70 from Rs 86.54 a kg on MCX. The October contract for the grade improved to Rs 89.75 (89.54), November to Rs 86.60 (86.26), December to Rs 86.65 (86.41) and January to Rs 87.75 (87.50) per kg in NMCE. The volumes stood at 567 (1,361) lots.

Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 89 (89.50); RSS-5: 87 (87); ungraded: 85 (85); ISNR 20: 86 (86) and latex 60 per cent: 62.10 (62.10).
