Performance RSP posts higher production Kolkata, Oct. 6 Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has recorded the best ever first-half performance in the six months ended September 30. Hot metal production during April-September 2007 stood at 1.06 million tonnes, crude steel 0.98 mt and saleable steel 0.98 mt. Despatch of steel stood at 0.95 mt. A press release says that the steel plant also achieved an all-time best September production level for hot metal (1,84,546 tonnes), crude steel (1,75,091 tonnes) and saleable steel (1,67,795 tonnes). The corresponding capacity utilisation was 112.3 per cent, 112.1 per cent and 122 per cent, respectively. The release states that the best-ever September performance was recorded in respect of hot rolled coils at 1,32,983 tonnes, hot rolled coils for sale at 60,519 tonnes, plates from plate mill at 41,311 tonnes and hot rolled plates at 26,363 tonnes.
