Letters ‘Dealing with plenty’ The editorial “Dealing with plenty” (Business Line, October 6) suggests that the Government take advantage of India’s huge foreign reserves. The country used to struggle with meagre reserves in the past decades and our mechanisms and systems were thus basically designed to cope with the exigencies arising out of such shortages. There is an urgent need to review the existing policies to bring about radical changes to avail of the numerous alternatives in the changed scenario. The various ministries have to work in unison to evolve and implement policies to achieve optimum benefits. By providing suitable and appropriate avenues for investments, the non-resident Indians can play a vital role in the fast growth of the economy. They should be permitted to bring in novel business ideas that will accelerate the economic progress and provide employment opportunities. Once the NRIs are provided with attractive packages and policies, capital will begin to flow. M. V. Nagavender Rao, Grand Ledge, US More Stories on : Letters | Forex
