Despite opposition from small time traders and vendors, Reliance Industries on Sunday opened a Reliance Fresh outlet in Bhubaneswar marking launch of its retail operations in the State. The outlet on Cuttack Road was formally opened at 11.30 a.m., before the organisations opposing the company’s retail operations could know about the development.

The company, however, chose not to keep vegetables in the outlet. The shutters of the outlet, however, were downed after the vendors reached the spot about two hours after the inauguration. The outlet was again opened for the public in the evening after the police intervened.
