M.S. Swaminathan Award

Dr B.S. Prakash, Head of dairy cattle physiology division, National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, has been chosen for Prof M.S. Swaminathan Award for 2006-7. The award is instituted by Nuziveedu Seeds and the Retired Indian Council of Agricultural Research Association (RICAREA) for recognising outstanding contribution of an Indian Scientist in the filed of agriculture and allied fields. "The contribution of Dr Prakash is immense in the filed of reproductive physiology of buffaloes. His findings have a practical application in improving the milk output in buffaloes," Dr M.V. Subba Rao, Chairman of award selection committee and former Vice-Chancellor of Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University told newspersons here on Sunday. - Our Bureau
