PRMIA seminar

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Oct. 8 The Hyderabad Chapter of the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA) will organise its second professional seminar at the State Bank Staff College tomorrow.

Dr David Millar, Chief Operating Officer, PRMIA, London, a globally well-known expert on operational risk management, will address the participants on the ORM-Global perspectives.

Mr Amitabha Guha, Managing Director, State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH), will preside.

The meet assumes significance in the context of global financial integration and the response of Indian financial markets to the sub-prime lending collapse of the US financial markets.

Basel Committee defines Operational Risk as ‘The risk of losses resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people and systems or from external events.’
