Events States - Tamil Nadu MetroPlus Theatre Fest in Hyderabad Our Bureau Hyderabad, Oct. 9 After enthusing theatre lovers in Chennai, The Hindu MetroPlus today announced the rollout of MetroPlus Theatre Fest in Hyderabad. The MetroPlus Theatre Fest is a part of effort to engage the public on a wider canvas. Launched in Chennai in 2005, The MetroPlus Theatre Festival, has become a popular English theatre event in the country and has rekindled interest in theatre lovers. “The response to the inaugural event has been very positive and we hope to make the festival an annual event in Hyderabad, a city with a large and appreciative audience for the arts,” Mr Mukund Padmanabhan, Senior Associate Editor, The Hindu, said at a press conference. The Hyderabad chapter is an important addition and showcases plays from three different cities in the country. The Regional Manager of Nippon Paint, Mr V. Nageswara Rao, said that there was a natural affinity between colours and this festival as both paint and theatre are characterised by colour and vibrancy. The theatre festival will feature four plays from October 10 to 13 at Ravindra Bharati. Rage Productions’ ‘Love Letters’, The Madras Players,’ ‘Five Point Someone,’ Harami Theatre’s ‘Butter and Mashed Banana’ and the Boardwalkers’ ‘Amadeus’ are among those to be staged.
