Software Marketing - New Products & Services Autodesk launches new software systems Archana Venkat Chennai, Oct.9 Autodesk has launched its 2008 version software systems — Inferno, Flame, Fire, Flint and Smoke. Driven by demand, the company has introduced interoperability features in these versions. For instance, Smoke 2008, a software used for editing and finishing, comes with extended visual effects (VFX) capability that is otherwise available only in dedicated VFX software such as Flame. Similarly Flame 2008 would have editing capabilities present in Smoke. “A lot of Smoke users are now being asked to do some amount of work VFX too,” Mr Pankaj Kedia, Regional Manager, Systems—China, India & South East Asia, Autodesk Media and Entertainment, told Business Line. This eliminates investing in a Flame system and then moving image files between Smoke and Flame systems. The 2008 version of the software systems ensure that concurrent users can work and move the same image clip between systems. More Stories on : Software | New Products & Services
