Our Bureau

Kochi, Oct. 10 Peace Boat, a Japanese international organisation that travels around the world to promote peace, friendship and sustainability, has anchored at Kochi Port on Wednesday morning for a day’s stopover. The vessel with more than 1,000 passengers had berthed in the Ernakulam wharf.

While 990 passengers are from Japan, others hail from various countries that included the UK, New Zealand, Australia, Ecuador and Malaysia. This is the 50th around the world voyage of the ship.

This call in Kochi is the third port of call on the three-month voyage, which started from Tokyo on September 23 and will return to Japan on January 10.
