Shipping Cochin Shipyard delivers platform supply vessel to Norway’s Deep Sea
Norway bound: The platform supply vessel that was delivered by Cochin Shipyard to Deep Sea Supply, Norway on Thursday. Our Bureau Kochi, Oct. 11 The public sector Cochin Shipyard Ltd on Wednesday delivered the fourth of the series of 8 platform supply vessels that it is building for Deep Sea Supply, Norway. The protocol for delivery and acceptance of the vessel was signed by Mr Annfinn Folsland from Deep Sea Supply and Mr C.K. Thomas, Executive Director of the yard, a release issued here said. CSL has further orders for 12 more platform supply ships for various foreign owners. UT-755-L designThe platform supply vessel is of UT-755-L design. The vessel is built for satisfying the specific demands of the offshore industry for transport of deck cargo, pipes, liquid cargo, cement etc and unloading to rigs and production platforms and pipe-laying barges. As the offshore industry moves into deeper waters, demand for such advanced vessels is expected to rise. Det Norske VeritasThe ship is built and classified under the most stringent rules and regulations of Det Norske Veritas and is classed for unmanned engine room and dynamic positioning grade I. The vessel also satisfies CLEAN notion of DNV, which signifies high standards of environmental safety. More Stories on : Shipping
