Bharati Shipyard bags SCI order

Mumbai, Oct. 11 Bharati Shipyard bagged a Rs 351-crore order from Shipping Corporation of India for design, construction and supply of four Anchor Handling Tugs cum Supply Vessels (AHTSVs) of 80 Tons Bollard Pull capacity.

According to a statement from the company, SCI is building this kind of a vessel for the first time in India using Havyard Design.

The advanced design also allows higher Dead Weight Tonnage and higher cargo carrying capacity. The AHTSVs function as a support and as a supply vessel in rig operations and also helps in anchor handling facilities to position the rig appropriately, the statement said.

Mr P. C. Kapoor, Managing Director, BSL said, the SCI order would take the company’s total order book to Rs 4,430 crore.
