Prepare plan to repair, maintain Kerala roads, says ICCI

Kochi, Oct. 14

Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has urged the State Government to prepare a comprehensive plan for thorough repair and periodical maintenance of all the roads in the State with a permanent system of high level monitoring.

The ICCI President, Mr R. Mohandas, said that it would be ideal if necessary steps are taken to make a detailed study on the general condition of the roads and identify areas, which are more vulnerable to frequent and comparatively higher level of damage.

Well-maintained roads would greatly help the Government’s efforts towards industrialisation and tourism promotion, besides facilitating transportation of goods, including export-import cargo passing through Cochin Port, he said.
