Rubber Spot rubber improves on global cues Aravindan Kottayam, Oct. 15 Spot rubber prices scaled further highs on Monday ridden by firm international indices and domestic fundamental factors. Intensified north-east monsoon once again halted tapping and the supplies were expected to hit the bottom lines during the season. RSS 4 improved to 94.50 and Rs 95 from Rs 93 and Rs 93.50 a kg respectively at Kottayam and Kochi. Futures move upThe rubber futures moved up except for October which expired weak at Rs 94 (94.51) a kg on NMCE. The November contract improved to Rs 96.85 (96.09); December to Rs 97.23 (95.92) and January to Rs 98.30 (97.15) per kg for RSS 4. The November contract was quoted at Rs 96.97 (95.75) a kg on MCX. The open interest stood at 3779 (3,675) lots on NMCE with 292 (364) lots in October, 1,826 (1,734) lots in November, 1,045 (1,012) lots in December and 616 (565) lots in January. The October futures for RSS 3 improved to 266.3 (Rs 88.86) Yen from 264.1 Yen a kg at TOCOM. Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 94.50 (93); RSS-5: 92.50 (91); ungraded: 90 (89.50); ISNR 20: 91 (90) and latex 60 per cent: 64.20 (63.15). More Stories on : Rubber
