Bond market range-bound

The bond market was range-bound on Monday, as there were concerns on liquidity in the system. “Though there was some movement seen in the short-term yields, the long-term remained range-bound,” said a dealer with a private bank. The total traded volumes on the order matching system were Rs 1,830 crore (Rs 1,280 crore). The benchmark 7.49 per cent-10-year-2017 paper opened at Rs 97.15 (7.92 per cent YTM) and closed at Rs 97.19 (7.92 per cent YTM). The 7.99 per c ent-10-year-2017 paper opened at Rs 100.52 (7.91 per cent YTM) and closed at Rs 100.57 (7.90 per cent YTM), against the pervious close of Rs 100.58 (7.90 per cent YTM).
