‘Entry tax will continue in UP after VAT ’

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Oct. 15 Entry tax will continue in Uttar Pradesh (UP) even after the introduction of VAT, said Mr Sunil Kumar, Commissioner (Trade and Tax), UP, said

The continuation of entry tax even after the proposed switching over to Goods and Services Tax (GST) dispensation by 2010 cannot be ruled out since a clear view has to be taken as to what all taxes would be subsumed to either VAT or GST.

The entry tax under VAT regime will not be made vatable, he added.
