New Delhi, Oct. 16

The People’s Union for Democratic Rights on Tuesday released a report stating that cases of workers dismissed by Maruti Suzuki India Ltd in 2001 were still pending in the court in spite of a High Court ruling that directed the Labour Court to wrap these up by March 19, 2007. The organisation demanded that the workers be reinstated and the VRS conducted by the company be investigated into for violation of VRS eligibility norms. —
