Kiran Shaw gets French award
Bangalore, Oct. 16
Ms Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairman and Managing
Director, Biocon Ltd, has been honoured with the
Veuve Clicquot Initiative for economic development for
Asia award. She is the first recipient of the award for
economic development, introduced this year for Asia,
Latin America and Africa, according to a company
release. Ms Mazumdar-Shaw was presented the award at
Reims near Paris.
The Veuve Cliquot Business Woman
Award was created in 1972 in honour of the 19th century
businesswoman, Madame Clicquot, who created and ran
the Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Champagne House. It is
presented to women who have demonstrated
undisputable business success, clear strategic vision,
entrepreneurship, daring vision and unique leadership
