Liberty unveils 200 new designs

Bangalore, Oct. 17 The Rs 400-crore shoe major Liberty Group is planning to set up a shoe manufacturing unit in Bangalore in the next couple of years. The Group currently has 11 plants in North India with a total output of 50,000 pairs per day. “We want to increase this to 70,000 per day soon,” Mr Raman Bansal, Executive Director, Liberty Group said on Wednesday.

Speaking at the launch of 200 new designs of the Liberty brand in Karnataka, Mr Bansal said that he expected the brand’s market share to increase from 30 to 50 per cent in the next one year.

Apart from new designs in the Tip Top, Fortune and Windsor lines, Liberty has also launched a mass sports shoe brand called ‘Killer’ priced at Rs 750. The Tip Top brand is now priced at Rs 399-499, he said.
