Shasun Chem posts 21% growth in revenues

Contract research revenues double

Shasun Chemicals and Drugs Ltd has reported standalone revenues of Rs 131.16 crore for the second quarter ended September 2007, a 21 per cent growth over the same quarter last fiscal.

According to a press release, quarterly revenues from contract research and manufacturing services more than doubled (compared to last year) at Rs 21.86 crore.

UK subsidiary

The company’s UK subsidiary experienced a performance dip in the second quarter due to operational issues at its Annan facility, which has resulted in deferral of revenues to the next quarter, the release said.

6-month performance

For the six months ended September 2007, the company has reported 12 per cent growth in consolidated revenues at Rs 404.69 crore over the corresponding period last year.

It reported a loss of Rs 7.06 crore for the six-month period compared to last year’s profit of Rs 23.43 crore for the same period.
