USV in marketing tie-up with Germany’s Sebapharma

Our Bureau

Mumbai, Oct. 18 Pharma major USV has entered the skincare market with the launch of Sebamed, a range of skincare products, manufactured by Germany’s Sebapharma GmbH & Co.

Sebapharma, which has its product presence in more than 70 countries, has entered into a marketing and distribution tie-up with the Rs 670-crore USV.

The Rs 2,100-crore Indian skincare product market is growing at 16 per cent and the German company has had India on its export agenda for quite some time, said Mr Thomas Maurer, Director.

USV is bringing 19 premium products of Sebamed in six ranges of cleansing, care, clear face, intimate wash, anti-ageing and baby and foresees a business of Rs 15 crore in the next three years. Sebapharma produces its products centrally in Germany and so a manufacturing association is ruled out in the near future, according to Mr Prashant Tewari, Managing Director, USV.
