New Projects POSCO board to discuss Orissa project today Our Bureau Bhubaneswar, Oct 18 POSCO is scheduled to hold its sixth board meeting of 2007 in New Delhi on Friday. The POSCO Board consisting of six standing Executive Directors, including Mr Ku-Taek Lee, Chief Executive Officer, POSCO; Mr Soung-Sik Cho, Senior Executive Vice-President and CMD POSCO-India and nine independent directors would be meeting in New Delhi to discuss regular affairs of the company. Project reviewAccording to a statement issued by the company here on Thursday, during this visit, the board members and senior executives would visit the POSCO-India corporate office at Bhubaneswar to review the progress of theproject in Jagatsinghpur district. Mr Ku-Taek Lee, Chief Executive Officer, POSCO is scheduled to meet and discuss the progress of the project with high-level officials of the Governments at the Centre and Orissa. In New Delhi, Mr Lee was likely to meet the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, and the Orissa Chief Minister, Mr Naveen Patnaik, who was there since Wednesday to attend other meetings. The company said it was keen to start its first integrated steel plant outside Korea in Orissa, and aims it to be the most competitive steel works in the world. The proposed 12 million tonne per annum capacity mega Greenfield project in Orissa intends to develop the economy of the State and living standard of the people, the company said.
