IT Dept assessing fire damages at Mayur Bhawan

New Delhi, Oct. 21 The Income-Tax Department does not foresee any loss in tax collections due to fire at Mayur Bhawan in the capital in on October 6 this year.

An official statement said that the cause of fire and extent of damage was still under investigation by the concerned agencies. The fire caused extensive damage to the 7th floor of Mayur Bhawan and partial damage to the 6th and 8th floors. The 6th, 7th and 8th floors of Mayur Bhawan are also damaged.

Offices located on 6th, 7th and 8th floors will be relocated to other buildings temporarily. These floors housed the offices of the DGIT(Administration), DGIT(Intelligence), DIT(PR,PP&OL), DIT(Recovery), CIT(Delhi-XV), CIT(Appeal-II), CIT(Appeal-V), CIT(Appeal-XXV) to CIT(Appeal-XXX), and some TDS Circles and Wards.
