NIPER premises inaugurated in Hyderabad

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Oct. 21 The Union Ministry of Chemicals and Petrochemicals is awaiting detailed project reports (DPRs) on public private partnerships in the six National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER).

The nature of public private partnerships in the NIPERs being set up at six locations would vary depending on the nature of industry in a specific location, Mr Arun Ramanathan, Secretary, Ministry of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, told newspersons after the inauguration of NIPER campus here on Friday.

“We will be appointing consultants for DPRs soon. After that it may take six months to have the DPRs prepared,” he said.

The setting up of NIPER, Hyderabad was easier as IDPL came forward to give 150 acres of land and an existing building, he added.

The Government had earlier announced plans to set up six NIPERs with a budget of Rs 200 crore each.
