Commodities Guarseed futures gain on NCDEX Our Bureau Mumbai, Oct 22 Strong demand from millers saw guarseed futures on NCDEX gain 1.21 per cent to Rs 1,751 per quintal. Jeera futures went up 1.11 per cent to Rs 10,814 per quintal on firm Unjha market. Barley for November delivery was up a tad at Rs 1,222 per quintal on good demand in spot marketsAfter the recent rally, cotton oilseed cake lost 1.44 per cent at Rs 362 per 50 kg, while kapas futures fell 0.74 per cent to Rs 430 per 50 kg on profit booking on the back of increased arrivals. Soyabean fell marginally to Rs 1,654 per quintal on profit booking. POTATO UP On the MCX, potato (Tarkeshwar) and cardamom gained marginally by 1.42 per cent and 0.7 per cent to Rs 628 per quintal and Rs 507 per kg on short covering even as demand remained steady. MCX recorded a turnover of Rs 6,083.43 crore through 89,485 trades. MCX Comdex-the composite index of metals, energy and agri sub-indices-was down by 1.09 per cent at 2289.25 points. MCX Metal Index lost 1.58 per cent at 2547.16 points, MCX Energy Index fell by 0.97 per cent at 2570.48 points but MCX Agri Index rose by 0.09 per cent at 1668.85 points. Bullion turnover on MCX was at Rs 3,503.31 crore of which gold contracts accounted for Rs 2587.03 crore and silver contracts Rs 916.28 crore. In the base metals, copper contracts turnover was Rs 659.73 crore. Copper for November delivery was down 1.62 per cent at Rs 305.85 per kg. In the energy segment, crude oil contracts clocked a turnover of Rs 513.41 crore.
