Sonata Q2 net, revenue rise

Bangalore, Oct. 22 Sonata Software has reported a 21 per cent rise in consolidated net profit and a 122 per cent rise in revenue for the September quarter over corresponding period last year.

The company posted a net profit of Rs 11.93 crore on revenues of Rs 334 crore for the second quarter of fiscal 2008 compared with a net of Rs 9.88 crore on revenues of Rs 150.6 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company declared an interim dividend of 50 paise per share (50 per cent on par value of Rs 1).

Sonata shares ended 7.2 per cent higher on the BSE at Rs 44.90 on Monday.
