Strategy States - Kerala Nippon Paint plans expansion, enters Kerala Sankar Radhakrishnan Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 22 Nippon Paint (India) Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between Japan’s Nippon Paint Co Ltd and Nipsea Holdings International, Singapore, is expanding its retail network in the country. The company currently has 70 exclusive outlets in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, and has just entered Kerala with its first exclusive paint store in Thiruvananthapuram. Exclusive StoresIt plans to have at least 40 such exclusive paint stores in each of the four Southern States by the end of next year, said Mr Ramakanth V. Akula, Vice-President, Decoratives, Nippon Paint (India) Pvt Ltd. In addition, the company’s products will also be sold in multi-brand paint stores, he added. ManufacturingThe company will look at expanding its retail operations to other parts of the country once its manufacturing plant in Chennai is commissioned, he said. This facility is scheduled to be commissioned by the middle of next year. The company is also working on plans for more manufacturing facilities in India, he added. Software ToolNippon Paint is also introducing ‘Nippon Colour Visualiser’ software in its stores. This software-based tool allows customers to see how their homes will look when painted a particular colour, Mr Akula explained.
