GMR’s verticals to have brand identities of their own

Hires Ray and Keshavan as brand, design consultants

K.V. Kurmanath

Hyderabad, Oct. 23 The GMR group, which had effected a major corporate rejig recently, has now begun a process, giving all its verticals in a variety of areas a new brand identity, while carrying the mother identity alongside.

Consultant

The company has roped in Ray and Keshavan, Bangalore-based leader in brand identity and design consultants for the purpose.

Sources in the company said the DIAL and RGIAL, the Delhi and Hyderabad international airports, would be the first of GMR’s SBUs to have first of such brand identities.

Logo

Ray and Keshavan has already prepared a logo for the upcoming Rs 2,478-crore Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA). The group had started using the new brand identity of the airport in the print advertisements it released this week.

The airport executives would have a meeting this week with the branding consultants to finalise a manual on how to present the logo in a variety of places.

“We need to finalise on the format.

“How should it look like on airport vehicles, signages, uniforms, airport area and at landscapes,” the sources said.

While other SBUs could wait, the RGIA could not as the launch date was fast approaching.

“We will finalise the modalities soon,” they said.

The logo for the Hyderabad airport “symbolised the dynamism and movement of the company” that emerged as a leading airport developer in the country.

The group would work with the brand consultants to continue the effort for other verticals.
