GE Shipping gets dry bulk carrier ‘Jag Ratan’

Mumbai, Oct 24 Great Eastern Shipping has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that the company took delivery of a modem Supramax dry bulk carrier.

The 52,179 dwt, 2001-built vessel, named “Jag Ratan” was contracted in July 2007.

With the induction of this vessel, the company’s fleet of 49 vessels includes 36 tankers and 13 dry bulk carriers aggregating 3.34 m dwt, with an average age of 11.2 years.

The company’s new building order book stands at six vessels aggregating 0.46 m dwt, the notice said.

The GE shipping stock closed at Rs 453.30 with a gain of 7.63 per cent as against the previous day’s close of Rs 421.15 with a gain of 5.14 per cent.
