Cinema States - Kerala KSFDC credit scheme for producers Our Bureau Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 24 The Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC) has unveiled a new credit scheme, titled ‘Chitranjali Plus’, for production of films at its Chitranjali Studio. As per the scheme, film producers can get amenities costing up to Rs 23.5 lakh if they remit Rs 2 lakh upfront. The actual benefit will work out to Rs 21.5 lakh, including the government subsidy of Rs 4 lakh. The producer has to enter into a tripartite agreement with the Chitranjali Studio in association with those given satellite, Indian video or overseas rights of the film. BenefitsThe benefits will comprise Rs 10 lakh for negative stock, Rs 3 lakh for outdoor shooting, Rs 4 lakh for laboratory works, Rs 5 lakh for editing, dubbing and rerecording and Rs 1.5 lakh for first copy stock, according to a statement from KSFDC. The distributors will be eligible for credit under the scheme for taking prints. For instance, credit up to Rs 15 will be available for taking 30 prints. Out of this, up to Rs 4 lakh will be given by KSFDC theatres and the balance amount of the credit will be given against post-dated cheques of up to Rs 1 lakh made available by select theatres. SelectionThe eligible producer or distributor under the scheme will be selected by the studio management committee. There are special packages for editing and dubbing alone as also for serial producers. The studio has initiated a project for modernisation of the laboratory and for creation of new sets.
