Foreign Trade Group on trade, investment with Norway mooted Our Bureau New Delhi, Oct 24 The Union Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, has mooted setting up of a joint working group on trade and investment with Norway. This suggestion was made during his bilateral talks with his Norwegian counterpart, Ms Kristin Halvorsen. Mr Chidambaram is currently on a three-day visit to Norway. During the meeting, the two Ministers acknowledged that the bilateral trade between India and Norway was below par its true potential and discussed various measures to improve the bilateral trade and investment. Mr Chidambaram expressed hope that the joint study group set up to examine the possibilities of trade and investment between India and EFTA of which Norway is also a member, would be able to submit its report next month. He also conveyed the Indian Government’s willingness to re-negotiate the double taxation avoidance agreement. More Stories on : Foreign Trade
