HBO to cash in on blockbusters

Bangalore, Oct. 25

Having been in India for seven years, HBO is looking to be known as a relevant brand, much more than just a television channel. Ms Shruti Bajpai, Country Manager – HBO South Asia, said: “With DTH (direct-to- home), niche channels are set to enter the country. Our strong point is offering the latest, biggest, newest Hollywood blockbusters. With this core competency, we would like to be known as a relevant brand to viewers.” With the multiplex revolution ca tching on and lot of entrants entering the space, movie-watching is slated for good times, said Ms Bajpai. A trend HBO wants to cash in on. HBO premieres Hollywood blockbusters on TV in South Asia through tie-ups with four Hollywood studios – Paramount, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal and Warner Brothers.
