Hyderabad, Oct. 25 As Home Box Office (HBO) celebrates its seventh year in India, it has unveiled plans to offer over 100 Hollywood movies, including some blockbusters during the festive season till December end.

The Country Manager of HBO South Asia, Ms Shruti Bajpai, said “virtually every day we expect to bring in one new Hollywood movie, providing the discerning viewer with what he likes. The biggest blockbuster Mission Impossible 3 will be telecast on November 7 at 9 pm.”

Addressing a press conference here today, Ms Bajpai said, “Viewer feedback showed that Hyderabad and Bangalore have emerged as two of the most exciting markets for HBO in the South and we continue to cater to their specific demands.”

Special themes

Citing HBO’s some of the popular movie fare such as Spiderman 2 and King Kong, Ms Bajpai said that the festive months of October, November and December provide special themes, blockbusters and premiers to celebrate the spirit of festivities. The line-up would include Diwali Buffet, Superman Fest, X’Mas Special, Wicked Hour and See It First with more than 14 premiers throughout.

“The market for dubbed movies has also grown phenomenally over the years and many of the popular Hollywood movies are being presented in several languages to cater to specific audience. Though HBO has not taken any decision on offering these, we may consider this option as well,” she said.
