New Products & Services Variety - Radio/TV States - Andhra Pradesh 92.7 FM station opens in Vizag Our Bureau Visakhapatnam, Oct. 25 Big 92.7 FM radio station launched its services here on Thursday and the station was inaugurated by street children in a five-star hotel here, The Park, by floating balloons. Mr Ashwin Padmanabhan, the cluster head, AP, said on the occasion, “We are very excited about the launch here. Our radio signals cover the city of Vizag and some of the adjoining towns as well, which ensures greater reach. We have several programmes such as Tollywood Tamasha, Sagar Kinare, Voice of Vizag and Andhra Sodabuddi after much research to suit the local tastes and offer wholesome entertainment.” He said Big FM stations had been set up at Tirupathi and Hyderabad earlier in the State. “We have a network of 45 stations – 20 cities in the north, seven cities in the east, nine in the west and nine more in the South, including the three in the State,” he said. He said the company, Adlabs Films Ltd owning the radio station, had invested Rs 400 crore in transmission equipment, infrastructure and licensing. “We have a workforce of 1,000 across the country,” he said.
