Hyderabad, Oct. 25 The National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Nimsme) has formally launched the Phase-II of International Executive Development Programmes.

It has also started the Foundation Programme for Extension Officers of North-Eastern Region (a national programme), according to Dr Chukka Kondaiah, Director-General of the Institute.

The international programmes focus on Empowerment of Women through Enterprises (EWE); Environmental Management in Small and Medium Enterprises (EMSME); Promotion of Agro and Food Enterprises (PAFE); Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM); Micro Finance for Micro Enterprises – SHG Approach (MISA); and Total Quality Management & Six Sigma (TQM).

All the programmes are of eight-week duration and will be held from October 15 to December 7. Seventy-six participants from 29 countries are attending these programmes, Dr Kondaiah said in a press release.

Dr G.U.K. Rao, Registrar of the Institute, said each programme has, apart from the class-room inputs, field visits, study tours, and in-plant training, which entail the preparation of a workable project report that can be put to use by the participants in their back home situation.

Mrs Rama Devi, president of Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh was the special guest.
