Arvind Mills in licensing pact with Cherokee

Bangalore, Oct. 26 Arvind Mills has signed an exclusive international license agreement with Cherokee Inc, a global licensor and brand management company.

This multi-year agreement covers a wide range of categories including men’s, women’s and children’s apparel, footwear, accessories, home and other categories.

Cherokee Inc owns and represents brands such as Cherokee, Side-out and Carole Little, which account for over $3 billion in annual retail sales worldwide.

Through this agreement, Cherokee brands will be available at Arvind Mills’ Megamart Outlet Centres and through exclusive stores.

Retail direct licensing

The company is primarily focused in global ‘retail direct’ licensing. It has partnered with many retailers in the world including Target Stores, Tesco Plc, TJX Companies, Zellers (Hudson Bay Company) and Pick’n Pay in “providing consumers with well understood brands, making them available on an exclusive basis with these retailers within specific geographic areas.”

Based in Van Nuys is a marketer, licensor and manager of a variety of brands it owns and represents.

Currently, Cherokee has licensing agreements in a number of categories, including family apparel, fashion accessories and footwear, home furnishings and recreational products. Cherokee is licensed in 28 countries.

Premier clients for the Cherokee brand around the world include Target Stores (US), Tesco (UK, Ireland and certain other European and Asian countries), Zellers (Canada), Pick’nPay (South Africa), Fawaz Al Hokair (West Asia), Grupo Pao de Acucar (Brazil), S.A.C.I. Falabella (Chile and Peru) and Commercial Mexicana (Mexico), Mervyn’s (US), Shanghai Bolderway (China), and for TJX Companies (US, Canada and Europe).
