Winter specials to Chennai

Mangalore, Oct. 28

Southern Railway will run winter special trains between Mangalore and Chennai to clear extra rush of passengers during the festive season of Deepavali, Bakrid and Christmas. A press release by Southern Railway said here that the first service from Chennai will be on November 1 and the last service will be on January 31. The first service from Mangalore will be on November 2 and the last service will be on February 1. Train no. 0601 will leave Chennai Central at 5 p.m. on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays to reach Mangalore at 9.30 a.m. the next day. In the return direction, 0602 will leave Mangalore at 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to reach Chennai at 8.30 a.m. the next day, the release added. —
