Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Oct. 28 Lanco Infratech Ltd recorded income of Rs 646.7 crore and profit of Rs 60.9 crore during the second quarter ended September 30, 2007 as against income of Rs 435.7 crore and profit of Rs 51.8 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.

The growth in income was attributed to increasing revenues from the company’s infrastructure business in spite of slightly lower income from the power division.

The company in a statement said that the Government of Uttar Pradesh has approved the increase in the capacity of the Anpara C Power Plant from 1,000 MW to 1,200 MW and this is awaiting the approval of the State Regulatory Commission.

Alongside, the company was in the process of expanding the 368-MW Kondapalli Gas Power Station and has invited bids for contracts. The company has decided to rework the 2x300 MW Amarkantak power station to a 1x600 MW unit.

Tirumala order

Outlining the company performance, Lanco said that the construction division has bagged a Rs 73-crore order from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams for the construction of Vedic University. Other projects include development of the Varanasi airport.
