BEL pays Rs 85-cr dividend to Govt
Bangalore, Oct. 29
Bharat Electronics Ltd said it has presented its highest
dividend to-date of 180 per cent for the 2006-07
fiscal. Mr V.V. R. Sastry, BEL's Chairman and Managing
Director, presented a final dividend cheque for 140 per
cent or Rs 84.96 crore to the Defence Minister, Mr A.K.
Antony, in New Delhi on Monday. The interim of 40 per
cent or Rs 24.27 crore was paid to the Government in
February 2007, a release said. The company has
witnessed a CAGR of 16 per cent since 2002-03, with the
turnover growing from Rs 2,508 crore to Rs 3,953 crore in
2006-07. BEL's percentage of dividend payment has also
increased from 100 per cent in 2003-04, 112 per cent in
2004-05 to 180 per cent. - Our Bureau
