Agro-pesticides company United Phosphorus Ltd has reported a loss of Rs 4.25 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 against a net profit of Rs 39.52 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. Net sales have grown by 2.67 per cent to Rs 372.84 crore (Rs 363.14 crore). Operating profit has fallen to Rs 72.77 crore from Rs 95.5 crore. For the quarter, the interest component has also risen to Rs 48.18 crore (Rs 13.87 crore). At the closing of the market, the shares were traded at Rs 370.70, a rise of 1.01 per cent over the previous close of Rs 367. - Our Bureau
